Time Is Eating Me Alive

Well, I was going to go for a different emotion, but instead I got what calls to me as SHAME.

Shame; n; A painful emotion caused by a strong sense of guilt, embarrassment, unworthiness, or disgrace.

The back story that I have gathered from the countless hours of working on this is that the said horse committed a shameful act to his herd. What that shameful act was could have been a variety of things, he or she could have betrayed it's fellow herd members to the enemy or something of the like. Whatever they did, they have now been banished or are being chased off while they feel the shame of their crime.
